Windsor Neckwear, a Nashville, Tennessee-based emerging menswear accessories brand providing high quality custom neck ties and bow ties, has partnered with award winning journalist and bow tie aficionado Alfred Edmond Jr. to develop the Alfred Edmond Jr. Signature Bow Tie Collection. The collection features 100% woven silk bow ties, handmade in limited quantities of 25 pieces per style. This exclusive collection will feature high quality fabrics and construction with vibrant color pallets, and daring design. A special launch event for the line will be held at Lexus of Nashville/Cool Springs, in Nashville, Tennessee on December 6, 2012. Michael McPherson and Mace Neal, co-founders of Windsor Neckwear recently described how the relationship started with Alfred. “Our relationship with Alfred was developed through our interactions via social networking engine Twitter,” says McPherson. “We discovered that Alfred loves bow ties so we sent him a link to our website and asked him to give us his opinion.” “Shortly thereafter he made his first order,” Neal adds. “He loved our bow ties and customer service; from there we just built a relationship through our shared passions for entrepreneurship, mentoring, and of course, bow ties.” The Alfred Edmond Jr. Signature Collection is designed to appeal to the gentleman who wants “to stand out while fitting in,” according to the personal style philosophy of Edmond, who worked directly with Windsor Neckwear to help design the collection. “Our goal is to work with Alfred to develop a collection of bow ties that will allow our customers to express their individual style through classic designs and bold colors,” says McPherson. “For this collection we went with a 2.75 inch width bow tie, which provides a subtle, yet powerful look. It’s the perfect size for most men; not too big or too small. Our plan is to develop four collections per year with seasonal color pallets along with traditional year-round color combinations. We also plan to release a line of pocket squares and cufflinks over the next year to compliment the collection.”
“My partnership with Windsor Neckwear represents a professional and business opportunity to indulge my love of style,” says Edmond, an award-winning journalist and nationally recognized expert on personal finance and small business best known as a long-time editor and executive at Black Enterprise. “At the same time, I get to honor a passionate belief, shared by both my mother and Black Enterprise Founder Earl G. Graves Sr., that my outward presentation is not just about image, but about my spirit and substance as a man. I hope to share this style philosophy with others who want to express their individuality and aspire to personal excellence, and I greatly appreciate Michael and Mace for seeing the value of partnering with me to do so.”
An exclusive media preview of the Alfred Edmond Jr. Collection was held on November 13, 2012, at Garmento Lab, 241 West 37th St., Suite 601A, in Manhattan’s Fashion District in New York City. Windsor Neckwear presented its New York media preview in partnership with Garmento Lab, a multi-line fashion showroom operated by industry veteran Sharon Lawrence, and Cole Media Inc., a Newark, New Jersey-based communications firm.
