Jubilation! An Enduring Musical Union
In the year 1892, Ryman Auditorium was opened and during the same year marked the first performance of the Fisk Jubilee Singers® in this sacred space. 130 years since then, both institutions continue to enjoy a thriving relationship. On June 28, both institutions will join forces again and present a night of wonderful music to the Nashville community.
The composition of the Fisk Jubilee Singers has changed since 1892, and it is the greatest honor for the current ensemble to join the wonderful Allison Russell in celebrating the Ryman’s 130th anniversary. The acoustics in this auditorium are perfect for the music of the Fisk Jubilee Singers who will perform during the first half of the program. Allison Russell will take the stage during the second half, singing music from her collection, with the Fisk Jubilee Singers and a band backing her up. We salute Ryman Auditorium on her 130th anniversary!
