Chuck iNDigo, born Nick Drake, is a hip hop/ neo soul artist from Nashville, TN. Chuck got his start in music in church as an adolescent singing in the youth choir. His sound is very reminiscent of that same soul evoking sonic of gospel music. As a teen, Chuck played sports through grade school eventually earning a scholarship to play basketball collegiaty. After his sophomore year in 2014, Chuck transferred to a school in Montgomery, AL, where he became involved in the underground spoken word and music scene. In the winter of his junior year, Chuck purchased a macbook and began producing and recording himself in his dorm room. Over time, he became serious at his craft and dropped his first project entitled ‘Outta The Blue”. Following that release in 2016, in 2017 Chuck released a highly respected, NIMA award nominated project, entitled “iNDigo SZN”. Chuck has since then been making a name for himself on the local and national scene, doing shows from Los Angeles to Raleigh . His project “So(u)liloquy” was released on July 17, 2018, and garnered much praise from his peers and listeners .
His most recent project, ‘iNDigo Cafe’ was released October 7, 2019.
The iNDigo Cafe is an authentic live experience that presents a unique approach to live performance, specifically as it pertains to Hip hop, incorporating elements of theatre and Broadway, dance and musicianship to create a one of one experience for the audience. From the skits, to crowd interaction, to the props, iNDigo Cafe is sure to leave a lasting impression in the minds of all who witness it, and is sure to serve as a turning point—not just in the career of local artist Chuck iNDigo but in the trajectory of Nashville’s bubbling hip hop scene.
