ABOUT:
Regeneration is the father-son duo of Rod "Preacherman" McGaha and Mike Floss. The two have come together to create an intergenerational group that bends genres and explores unique soundscapes through technology, lyrics, and instrumentation.
Rod McGaha stands out as the epitome of a musician's musician, boasting an impressive career that includes collaborations with iconic figures like Max Roach and a tenure as the musical director for Kenny Rogers' Christmas tour. His extensive global touring experience with a diverse range of artists underscores his commitment to continually expanding his musical boundaries. Not one to confine himself to traditional styles, McGaha's recent work features on Brittany Howard's 2024 album, "What Now," where he pioneers new sonic territories with the trumpet, utilizing effects like wah-wah pedals, distortion, delay, and reverb—techniques more commonly associated with guitarists. In addition to his musical innovations, McGaha has devoted the past decade to photography, achieving recognition in the groundbreaking museum exhibition of Black collage artists titled “Multiplicity.”
Mike Floss is a hip hop artist and Native Nashvillian that has opened for artists including Pusha T, Playboi Carti, Wale, Yo Gotti, Future, and others. Floss has toured nationwide, and performed at major festivals including Made In America, Bonnaroo, The Jay-Z headlined Meadows Music fest, and Sloss Fest to name a few.
