About The Change Up:
After #BlackOutTuesday went viral on social media as a part of the larger BLM movement, Acme Radio Live decided we wanted to do more than post a black square. We wanted to implement real change within our radio station that would serve long after a hashtag stopped trending. Lovenoise was a clear fit for a partner to help us provide a better platform for the urban music community.
We created a live stream series called The Change Up (emphasis on change) that focused on bringing local rap, hip hop and R&B to Broadway. With Acme Feed & Seed being closed to the public due to covid-19 we had the unique opportunity to provide a safe space for these artists to perform and promote themselves unlike anything ever done in downtown Nashville before.
Based on the success of our 5-show series, all safely live streamed with a small socially distanced audience, we decided to continue the show as a monthly series on a larger scale in 2021 and continue to provide a space for the urban music community on Broadway.
Our mission at Acme Radio Live continues to focus on the discovery and preservation of “Authentic Music City”. With this opportunity to pivot and create The Change Up we're able to continue to provide a platform for the real Nashville artists we love, while also uplifting and providing a sense of community & togetherness when our world needs it most.
We invite you to be a part of The Change Up and show your support towards diversifying Nashville's music scene and helping uplift local non-profits/artists that make our community what it is.
